- This standard is intended for use by organizations involved in the development and operation of space-based Earth remote sensing systems and the creation of Earth remote sensing products from space. This standard is intended to formulate general requirements for sub-satellite observations, including methods for conducting them, in order to monitor the operation of target equipment. This standard does not apply to Earth remote sensing data from space obtained from space complexes (space systems) for hydrometeorological, oceanographic and heliophysical purposes.
