Scope: This standard covers manufacturing operations and manufacturing control of equipment and processes for the synthesis of supported metal powder products to meet the requirements of mission-critical applications such as aerospace structures or medical implants. The requirements of this standard apply to products and samples for the study of mechanical properties produced by synthesis on a substrate using laser and electron beams. This standard is not intended to address all possible safety aspects (if any) associated with its use. The user of this standard is responsible for implementing appropriate safety, health and environmental precautions and determining the applicability of regulatory limitations before use. This standard has been developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles of standardization adopted pursuant to the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the Committee on the Elimination of Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) of the World Trade Organization
