Scope: This standard specifies requirements for analog, discrete and digital bandpass filters. For all filters with a given bandwidth, the ratio of the bandwidth to the exact center frequency of that band is a constant. An instrument meeting the requirements of this standard may contain any number of bandpass filters covering any desired frequency range. This standard establishes two categories of filters: class 1 and class 2. The requirements for class 1 and class 2 filters differ in their tolerance limits and operating temperature range. The tolerance limits for class 2 filters are greater than or equal to the tolerance limits for class 1 filters. The maximum permitted measurement uncertainties are also determined
