Scope: This standard is intended to describe certain levels of information used to identify a medicinal product or group of medicinal products. The standard contains a description of the data elements and structures, as well as the relationships between them, necessary for the unique identification of registered medicinal products when exchanging information. This identification should also be used throughout the product life cycle for pharmacovigilance and other regulatory activities. In addition, this standard is used to ensure the formation of structured data on medicinal products for the exchange of information between various participants in the circulation of medicinal products. Its use ensures interoperability and functional compatibility of information systems of both the sender and the recipient
