- This International Standard defines terms related to identity management, the basic concepts of identity and identity management, and their relationship. The provisions of this standard are applicable to any information system that processes identification information, and are used in conjunction with standardization documents governing identification issues. This standard is intended to be applied by incorporating normative references to it in accordance with applicable law and/or by express reference to the provisions established therein.
