- This document specifies the operating conditions, technical requirements and test methods of gapless metal oxide arresters (hereinafter referred to as "arrester") used to protect the transfer switches of high-voltage DC converter stations. This document applies to composite jacketed metal oxide arresters designed to limit the operating overvoltage of the transfer switch of a high-voltage DC converter station during the conversion process and absorb the energy in the conversion loop.
