Scope: This standard defines a unified signaling mechanism for the software update system (FOSS) service of digital television broadcasting (DVB) receivers and the method of data transmission for such a service, profiles and types of FOSS services of DVB receivers, requirements for the interaction of operators providing software update services (SW ) DVB receivers and requirements for the interaction of DVB receivers with the operator’s network. The requirements of this standard should be taken into account when developing, manufacturing and operating DVB receiving devices, as well as when developing, designing and operating software for DVB networks
