NS 3912:2020 - Exterior fire protection - Method for design and verification

Scope: This document specifies the method for how external fire protection is to be establis ed, and how the performance in case of fire is to be verified. The requirements for performance in case of fire are given for specific external exposures. Protection with required performance includes active or passive measures to limit external and hidden fire spread, or to extend the burn-through time for external protection of buildings, in some places abbreviated to the fire shell (see (3.24) ) .The document refers to standards for verifying fire protection. This document contains a test method for the fire protection performance of measures against fire in high flammable walls by preventing burning through to cavities. The document does not deal with protection against explosions. The document does not deal with all aspects of fire protection of buildings above 8 storeys or load-bearing facades with hanging walls.
