IEC 62271-102 applies to AC isolators and grounding switches designed for indoor and outdoor installations with rated voltages above 1000 V and service frequencies up to 60 Hz. It also applies to the operating devices and auxiliary equipment of these isolators and grounding switches. Additional requirements for isolators and grounding switches in enclosed switchgear and controlgear are given in IEC 62271-200, IEC 62271-201, and IEC 62271-203. Note: Isolators where the fuse is an integral part are not included in this standard. This document also applies to switching devices that, among other functions, have disconnection and/or grounding capabilities, such as high-speed grounding switches, circuit breakers, and load switches.
