2Scope / Description
This part of ISO 4412 describes a procedure for determining the sound power levels of hydraulic fluid power pumps under controlled installation and operating conditions. It is suitable for providing a basis for comparing the noise levels of pumps, with respect to:
——A-weighted sound power levels;
——one-third octave band power levels. From these sound power levels, a reference sound pressure level can be calculated, if necessary, for reporting purposes (see clause 11). For general purposes, the frequency range of interest consists of the one-third octave bands with centre frequencies between 100 Hz and 10 000 Hz. This part of ISO 4412 is applicable to all types of hydraulic fluid power pumps, operating under steady-state conditions, regardless of size, subject to any limitations on the size of the test environment (see clause 3).
