2Scope / Description

In addition to the standard DIN 50905 part 1, this standard establishes special guidelines for testing the corrosion response of metallic materials under laboratory conditions, at which, in the absence of mechanical stresses, the specimens under investigation are immersed continuously or alternating either completely or partially into the corrosive medium or are exposed to the steam condensate bove the liquid phase. It is the main task to ensure that the results of corrosion tests which are performed unter these conditions in various laboratories are comparable to each other and lead to the same conclusions with respect to the prospective in-service behaviour of the metallic materials under investigation. The observation of the guidelines given in this standard ensures a comparable evaluation and description of the result of corrosion tests performed in liquid phases, and in the absence of mechanical stresses.#,,#
