2Scope / Description
This European Standard specifies the requirements for materials, design, manufacturing, testing, safety systems, and documentation (including instructions for initial commissioning) for commonly used types of gas accumulators and gas reservoirs for hydraulic applications. It applies to bladder accumulators, diaphragm accumulators, piston accumulators, transfer accumulators, and gas reservoirs for increasing gas volume, operating at an internal pressure greater than 0.5 bar, at an operating temperature between -50°C and +200°C, and with liquids and gases of Group 2 according to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. It does not apply to hydraulic accumulators containing hazardous fluids.
