Scope

This standard is applicable to magnetic particle testing and assessment of surface and near-surface defects of raw materials and welds of storage tanks and pipelines. Magnetic particle inspection of storage tanks includes the tank body and accessories connected to the tank body. Pipeline magnetic particle inspection is suitable for pipelines transporting crude oil, refined oil, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and other media (including oilfield water injection and gas injection pipelines), and their outer diameter should be greater than 70mm. This standard stipulates that dry and wet magnetic powder AC electromagnetic yoke continuous magnetization methods should be used.
