This standard specifies the classification of hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors may appear, so as to correctly select and install electrical equipment for these hazardous locations. This standard applies to places where ignition hazards may occur due to the presence of flammable gases or vapors mixed with air under normal conditions, but does not apply to the following places: a) Underground coal mines; b) Explosive processing and manufacturing; Hazardous locations that may be caused by toxic dust or fibers; d) Serious failure locations beyond the anomalous concept discussed in this standard; e) Medical rooms.
