This standard specifies the hydraulic performance acceptance test of rotary power pumps (centrifugal pumps, mixed flow pumps and axial flow pumps, hereinafter referred to as "pumps"). It is suitable for use with pumps of any size and of any nature to convey liquids such as clean cold water (as defined in 5.4.5.2). This standard does not deal with the specific construction details of the pump, nor is it concerned with the mechanical properties of the pump components. This standard includes two measurement accuracy classes; class 1 for higher accuracy and class 2 for lower accuracy. These classes contain different values for tolerance coefficients, permissible fluctuations and measurement uncertainties. For mass-produced pumps with a selection of typical performance curves and pumps with input power below 10kW, see Appendix C for higher tolerance factors. This standard applies both to the pump itself without any piping accessories and to pump assemblies connected to all or part of the upstream and/or downstream piping accessories.
