This standard is one of a series of standards concerning the sampling and testing of paints, varnishes and related products. This standard specifies a method for visual colorimetric comparison of the coating film color of pigmented paints and related products. Compare the sample with the standard sample. The standard sample can use a reference standard plate or a newly prepared standard plate. The test can be carried out under natural eyes or under artificial light in a color comparison box. This standard does not apply to color comparisons of paint films containing special effect pigments, such as metallic pigments, without prior agreement on lighting and viewing conditions.
