Scope: This standard applies to identification and marking of terminals such as resistors, fuses, relays, conductors, transformers, rotating machinery and combinations of such electrical equipment. In addition, this standard also applies to the marking of the terminals of some specific conductors. This basic safety publication may be applied by technical committees when developing standards following the principles defined in IEC Guide 104 and ISO/IEC Guide 51. It should be noted that one of the responsibilities of technical committees is to include or refer to the requirements of basic safety publications as far as possible when preparing standards applicable to a certain type of equipment.
