This specification is formulated in order to implement the country's technical and economic policies in the design of shunt capacitor devices in electric power engineering, to achieve safety, reliability, advanced technology, reasonable economy, and convenient operation and maintenance. This specification applies to the design of new construction and expansion projects of three-phase AC high-voltage and low-voltage shunt capacitor devices for reactive power compensation in substations and distribution stations (rooms) with a voltage level of 750kV and below. The design of the shunt capacitor device should determine the compensation capacity, wiring method, supporting equipment, protection and control method, layout and installation method according to the power grid conditions, compensation requirements, environmental conditions, operation and maintenance requirements and practical experience of the installation site. The selection of equipment for shunt capacitor installations shall comply with the provisions of the current relevant national standards. The design of the parallel capacitor device shall not only comply with this specification, but also comply with the provisions of the current relevant national standards.
