Scope: This standard specifies the codes for the names of oil and gas fields within the territory of the People's Republic of China. This standard applies to the identification of oil and gas fields in the information collection, processing and exchange of crude oil, natural gas and coalbed methane exploration, development and production management. This standard does not apply to the units under the jurisdiction of oil and gas fields as the basis for setting up institutions, and the oil and gas field codes in this standard do not apply to the statistics of the number of oil and gas fields.
