This specification specifies the welding construction requirements for carbon steel and low alloy steel pipe welds in high hydrogen sulfide (HS) natural gas pipeline transportation systems in the oil and gas industry. This specification is applicable to the welding construction of natural gas transmission pipelines with a volume fraction of HS in natural gas greater than or equal to 5%. This specification does not replace other technical standards and specifications related to the welding of process pipelines for natural gas gathering and transportation and purification equipment.
