Scope

This standard is designed to assist petrochemical refining owners and contractors in implementing an effective contractor safety and health program. In the petroleum sector, this standard only applies to downstream operations, namely refineries, pipelines and marketing terminals, excluding exploration, development and offshore operations. This standard provides guidance on the application principles listed in API RP 2220. Security issues are important in all aspects of industry, including the contractor screening process. However, this standard does not discuss specific security content, but only provides reminders.
