Scope
This standard proposes the selection and application suggestions of surge arresters for AC systems with a nominal voltage greater than 1kV. These recommendations apply to AC gapless metal oxide surge arresters defined in GB 11032, rated voltage 52kV and below with series gap surge arresters defined in GB/T 28182-2011, and IEC 60099-8, DL/T 815-2002 and JB /T 10497-2005 Metal oxide surge arresters with series outer gaps for overhead transmission lines and distribution lines. GB 311.1 and GB/T 311.2 give the principles of insulation coordination for power systems. Insulation coordination is the process of ensuring the safety, reliability, economy and risk management of the design and operation of high-voltage power grids and substations. The use of lightning arresters makes the system and equipment have an acceptable risk at a certain insulation level and makes the economy The loss is minimal. The introduction of analysis models and power system transient simulation further optimizes the selection of equipment insulation levels. In the design and operation of power systems, the selection of arresters is becoming more and more important. It should be recognized that the reliability of power systems and equipment depends on the size of the safety margin selected by users when designing and selecting equipment and arresters. The residual voltage of arrester is an important parameter considered by most users when choosing arresters. GB 11032 gives the maximum residual voltage of typical arresters. However, for some systems, if there is better operating experience or arresters with better performance, You can choose according to the actual situation.
