2Scope / Description
This document sets forth the principal general requirements for the provision of critical infrastructure security services. NOTE 1: This document constitutes the first part of a series addressing security services for critical infrastructure. It is supplemented by other sector-specific parts that provide more detailed requirements for related services, such as security in aviation, maritime transport, and ports. NOTE 2: Examples of critical infrastructure sectors are given in Annex A. NOTE 3: See Figure 1. NOTE 4: It is essential that the selection of a security services provider always represents the optimal balance between quality and price. This document establishes minimum requirements that providers must meet to achieve this balance. The document defines service requirements to ensure quality within the organization of the security service provider and/or its independent branches and companies established under business and commercial law, including their processes, personnel, and management. It further sets quality criteria for the provision of security services ordered by both public and private sector clients. This document is suitable for the selection, appointment, contracting, and review of the most appropriate security service providers.
