2Scope / Description
Standard Name: Bitumen Rubber Insulating Mastic
Standard Number: GOST 15836-70
Scope: This standard applies to bitumen-rubber insulating mastic, which is a multi-component homogeneous mass composed of petroleum bitumen (or a mixture of bitumens), filler, and plasticizer. The mastic is intended for insulating underground steel pipelines and other structures to protect them from soil corrosion. It must be used in accordance with construction norms and regulations.
Grades and Technical Requirements:
- MBR-65: Recommended ambient temperature for application ranges from +5°C to -30°C.
- MBR-75: Recommended ambient temperature for application ranges from +15°C to -15°C.
- MBR-90: Recommended ambient temperature for application ranges from +10°C to -35°C.
- MBR-100: Recommended ambient temperature for application ranges from +5°C to -40°C.
The mastic must be homogeneous, free from foreign inclusions, and must not contain filler particles not coated with bitumen. It should not foam or change its homogeneity when heated. Additionally, it must meet specific technical requirements such as softening temperature, needle penetration depth, and elongation at 25°C. The water absorption of the mastic should not exceed 0.2% by mass after 24 hours.
