2Scope / Description
This document specifies the technical delivery conditions for high-strength and weather-resistant electric welded and slag-cored seam welded cold-formed steel hollow sections with circular, square, rectangular, or elliptical cross-sections. These sections are cold-formed without subsequent heat treatment, except for heat treatment of the weld seams.
NOTE 1: Requirements for tolerances, dimensions, and cross-sectional properties are provided in EN 10219-2.
NOTE 2: Users are advised that although the steel grades in this document may exhibit mechanical properties equivalent to those of hot-finished steel grades in EN 10210-3, the cross-sectional properties of square and rectangular hollow sections specified in EN 10219-2 and EN 10210-2 are not equivalent.
NOTE 3: This document specifies the range of steel grades available, and the user may select a grade best suited to the intended service and maintenance conditions. The steel grades and mechanical properties of cold-formed hollow sections (excluding final delivery conditions) are generally comparable to those specified in EN 10025-3, EN 10025-4, EN 10025-5, EN 10025-6, EN 10149-2, and EN 10149-3.
