2Scope / Description
EN 13369 specifies the requirements, essential performance criteria, and the conformity assessment procedure (AVCP) for concrete products. The standard covers unreinforced, reinforced, and prestressed concrete products that comply with EN 206 and are manufactured from lightweight, normal-weight, and heavy-weight concrete. In addition to any intentionally incorporated air, the concrete shall not contain any air voids in significant quantities. Fibre-reinforced concrete is also included, provided that the fibres do not adversely affect mechanical properties (steel fibres, polymer fibres, or other fibres).
EN 13369 serves as a reference standard for other standards, enabling a harmonised approach to standardisation in the field of concrete products and reducing potential inconsistencies arising from the simultaneous development of multiple standards by different expert groups. At the same time, it offers experts the opportunity to introduce specific deviations in product standards where necessary.
