This Estonian standard covers the nature of voluntary liability insurance and the conclusion of contracts for voluntary professional liability insurance for construction consultants. It provides recommendations that policyholders should reasonably consider when: (1) seeking insurance coverage appropriate to their interests; (2) selecting a voluntary liability insurer; and (3) reviewing the terms of the concluded insurance contract. The standard also offers guidance on how requirements concerning voluntary professional liability insurance for construction consultants may appropriately be stipulated in tender contracts. Furthermore, it addresses the performance and termination of such insurance contracts, clarifying in particular the principal rights and obligations of the contracting parties. This standard does not apply to liability insurance contracts concluded in connection with construction and construction management.
