2Scope / Description

This European Standard specifies the design requirements and test methods for power-driven interior and exterior doors. These doors may be electromechanical, electrohydraulic, or pneumatically driven. This European Standard covers the safety of use of power-driven doors for general passage, evacuation routes, and as fire and/or smoke doors. The types of doors covered include power-driven sliding doors, swing doors, and revolving doors, including revolving sliding doors with horizontally moving sashes and folding doors. Power-driven sliding doors, as part of other doors whose primary intended purpose is to provide safe passage for personnel, are also included in the scope of this European Standard. This European Standard addresses all significant hazards, hazardous situations, and dangerous events associated with power-driven doors, provided that the door is used as intended or under conditions of misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Annex J).
