2Scope / Description

This standard applies to steel frames made of cold-formed, hot-dip galvanized sheet steel or stainless steel (nominal thickness: S = 1.5 mm or S = 2.0 mm) with at least one groove for receiving a damping profile, for rebated and non-rebated door leaves with height and width dimensions according to DIN 18101, standard dimensions according to DIN 18100, or with any intermediate dimensions, within the specific requirements for installation in various wall constructions. With appropriate design, door leaves weighing up to 160 kg (total weight) can be installed in frames according to this standard, optionally with a transom. They can be used for DIN left or DIN right opening, depending on the specifications. This standard does not apply to steel frames used with fire and/or smoke protection closures; with burglar-resistant closures; or for sliding or swing door systems. Manufacturer-specific technical publications must be observed.
