2Scope / Description
This part of IEC 61000-4 defines methods for measuring and interpreting power quality parameters in AC power supply systems with a fundamental frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Measurement methods are described for each relevant parameter to provide reliable and repeatable results, regardless of the implementation of the method. This standard applies to measurement methods used in the field. The measurement of parameters covered by this standard is limited to conducted phenomena in the power supply system. The power quality parameters considered in this standard include: power supply frequency, supply voltage amplitude, flicker, supply voltage sags and swells, voltage interruptions, transient voltages, supply voltage imbalances, voltage harmonics and interharmonics, power frequency signals on the supply voltage, rapid voltage changes, and current measurements. Emissions in the range of 2 kHz to 150 kHz are considered in Annex C (Informative), while over/under deviations are considered in Annex D (Informative). Depending on the purpose of the measurement, one or all of the phenomena listed may be measured.
