Safety of industrial trucks. Electrical/electronic requirements
1Key Takeaways
This document specifies the electrical design and installation requirements for self-propelled industrial trucks in accordance with ISO 5053-1, but excludes components specifically used in automatic unmanned operation, such as variable frequency lift trucks in clauses 3.21 and 3.22, and forklifts in clauses 3.18 and 3.…
2Scope / Description
This document specifies the electrical design and installation requirements for self-propelled industrial trucks in accordance with ISO 5053-1, but excludes components specifically used in automatic unmanned operation, such as variable frequency lift trucks in clauses 3.21 and 3.22, and forklifts in clauses 3.18 and 3.19, as defined in ISO 5053-1:2015. The document provides the relevant parts of the electrical/electronic safety control system in accordance with the EN ISO 3691 and EN 16307 series of standards to achieve the above requirements for self-propelled industrial trucks. Note: This document is also referenced in other standards covering non-electrical requirements. The requirements of this document are valid when these forklifts are used under the specified climatic conditions, as specified in the relevant parts of the EN ISO 3691 and EN 16307 series, and the humidity range is between 30% and 95% (non-condensing). This document covers the safety requirements for electrical and electronic components of all industrial trucks, including electro-hydraulic/pneumatic control valves. At the same time, it specifies the minimum performance level required for the safety functions implemented by the safety control system.
