This part of ISO 6507 specifies verification methods for testing machines for determining Vickers hardness in accordance with ISO 6507-1. It describes direct verification methods for checking the main functions of the machine, and indirect verification methods suitable for checking the machine as a whole. The indirect verification methods can be used alone for regular checks of machines in use. If the testing machine is also used for other hardness test methods, each method must be verified independently. Portable hardness testing machines shall comply with all the requirements of this part of ISO 6507. The force values in this part are calculated based on kilogram-force values.
