2Scope / Description

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and custody of alternator electronic voltage regulators for motor vehicles and internal combustion engines. This standard applies to electronic voltage regulators (hereinafter referred to as regulators) for motor vehicles (cars, tractors, construction machinery, low-speed trucks, three-wheeled vehicles) and alternators for internal combustion engines. Regulators for alternators for ships and other special purposes can be adopted as a reference. The regulator works in conjunction with the alternator and battery to keep the generator output voltage within the specified range.
