2Scope / Description

In addition to meeting the basic requirements stipulated in the "core" standard GB/T 21404, this part of GB/T 6072 also specifies the calibration and test methods for power, fuel consumption and oil consumption. This part of GB/T 6072 specifies engine power codes that comply with the requirements of the "core" standard GB/T 21404, so that the expression of power can be simplified and communication facilitated when necessary. This may apply to representations such as engine nameplate power. This part of GB/T 6072 applies to land, rail traction and marine reciprocating internal combustion engines. This section may also apply to engines for road construction machinery and overhead machinery, industrial trucks and other uses for which no suitable standards are currently available. This part is a "satellite" standard. Only when used together with the "core" standard GB/T 21404 can it comprehensively specify the technical conditions of engines for specific purposes.
