2Scope / Description
This standard specifies the method for measuring the steady-state heat transfer properties of plate-like specimens using the guarded hot plate device and the calculation of the heat transfer properties. This method is an absolute or referee method for measuring heat transfer properties, requiring only measurements of size, temperature and electrical power. According to the report of the test method of this standard, the thermal resistance of the test piece should not be less than 0.1m2K/W, and the thickness should not exceed the requirements of 1.7.4. The lower limit of the thermal resistance of the test piece can be as low as 0.02m2 K/W, but the accuracy mentioned in 1.5.3 may not be achieved in the whole range. If the test piece only meets the requirements of 1.8.1, the test results represent the thermal conductivity and thermal resistance or transfer coefficient of the test piece. If the test piece meets the requirements of 1.8.2, the test result can represent the average measurable thermal conductivity of the tested piece. If the test piece meets the requirements of 1.8.3, the test results can represent the thermal conductivity or apparent thermal conductivity of the tested material.3Version History
