2Scope / Description
This standard sets forth specific requirements for the construction and testing of spark-safe electrical systems for full or partial use in potentially explosive gas atmospheres of Group 1 (mines). This standard supplements the requirements of GB/T 19439-11 (IEC 60079-11), which pertains to electrical equipment used in spark-safe electrical systems. This standard applies to:
——systems placed on the market by the manufacturer or its authorized representative;
——systems assembled by the purchaser in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 19439-11. Note: If the purchaser intends to assemble a system using equipment that does not conform to the requirements of GB/T 19439-11, it assumes responsibility as the system manufacturer and shall perform a conformity assessment procedure. This standard does not apply to the selection of appropriate electrical equipment or the installation of spark-safe electrical equipment and related electrical equipment to construct a spark-safe electrical system. Note: National regulations may specify additional requirements for the selection, installation, and use of spark-safe electrical systems in mines.
