2Scope / Description

This international standard specifies requirements for a quality management system for organizations that need to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and for organizations that aim to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement and assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements. The purpose of this international standard is to provide guidance for local governments on how to achieve reliable results through the overall application of ISO 9001:2008. These guidelines do not add to, change or modify the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. All requirements of this international standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of their type, size and products provided. If any requirement of this international standard cannot be applied due to the nature of the organization and its products, it can be considered for exclusion.
