2Scope / Description
This standard applies to solid fuel-fired domestic heating boilers with a rated heat output of up to and including 50 kW (hereinafter referred to as boilers) and defines the design and operational requirements, safety requirements, testing methods, labeling requirements, and test fuel requirements for domestic solid fuel boilers. This standard applies to boilers with manual or automatic fuel loading whose primary function is to heat water for central heating or for domestic use, which are used exclusively for installation in open heating systems with an operating pressure of no more than 0.2 MPa. These appliances, in addition to their primary function of heating water for the heating system, are also used to heat the air in the rooms where they are installed. These boilers can use solid mineral fuel, peat briquettes, wood briquettes, or firewood, or operate on a combination of fuels in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This standard does not apply to boilers with a rated heat output of less than 5 kW intended for domestic heating or hot water. This standard does not apply to automatic fuel conveyor systems.
