2Scope / Description

This standard applies to junction boxes for photovoltaic modules and establishes requirements for the design, safety, and testing of such junction boxes. This standard applies to junction boxes for photovoltaic modules used in photovoltaic systems with a voltage of 1500 V DC. This standard also applies to boxes and cabinets installed in electronic enclosures of photovoltaic modules (interruption, control, monitoring, etc.). To take into account the influence of specific operating conditions (e.g., exposure to ultraviolet radiation or salt fog), additional requirements and tests may be added to the requirements and tests of this standard. This standard does not apply to electronic grades of photovoltaic modules, which are covered by other standards.
