This International Standard applies to the design and installation of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical systems used for electric propulsion and/or electric hybrid (rechargeable battery and fuel powered power source systems) propulsion purposes. This International Standard applies to electric drive systems operating individually or in combination in the following ranges:
——Direct current less than DC 1500 V;
——single-phase alternating current up to AC 1000 V;
——three-phase alternating current up to AC 1000 V. This International Standard applies to electric propulsion systems installed in small watercraft with a hull length of up to 24 m (LH according to ISO 8666). In addition, this International Standard lists in Annex A additional information that must be included in the owner's manual and in Annex B additional information that must be provided to the installer.
