This document specifies test methods for the bond strength of dental polymer-based bonding materials that contain an adhesive component and information on their physical and chemical properties. These materials are supplied in a form suitable for mechanical mixing or hand mixing, including the use of automatic mixing tips, for self-curing or external energy activation, or unmixed for external energy activation. The polymer-based bonding materials covered by this document are intended for cementation or fixation of restorations and appliances such as inlays, onlays, veneers, posts, crowns and bridges. This document does not include the following polymer-based bonding materials: a) Materials that do not contain an adhesive component in their structure (see ISO 4049); b) Materials used for veneer subframes (see ISO 10477).
