This International Standard contains general rules and safety requirements for hydraulic systems and their components in machines according to ISO 12100-1:2010, 3.1. It identifies hazards associated with hydraulic systems and defines principles that must be applied to avoid those hazards when using the system as intended. NOTE 1 See Section 4 and Annex A. The main hazard of noise is not fully addressed in this International Standard. NOTE 2 The noise hazard depends in particular on the installation of the hydraulic components or systems in the machine. This International Standard applies to the design, construction and modification of systems and their components, with further consideration of the following aspects: a) assembly; b) installation; c) facility; d) trouble-free operation of the system; e) simple and economical maintenance and cleaning; f) reliable operation in all intended applications; g) energy efficiency; and h) environment.
