Scope: This document specifies the dimensions, tolerances and marking requirements for connecting threads (API threads for short) and gauges of line pipes, round thread casings, round thread oil pipes, and buttress thread casings used in the oil and gas industry, as well as the requirements for testing API threads and Gauge instruments and methods. This document applies to the processing, measurement and inspection of casing, tubing and line pipe threads for the oil and gas industry. This document also applies to control thread acceptance gauges, including individual parameter gauges and instruments for testing API threads.
