2Scope / Description

This part of IEC 60204 applies to electrical, electronic, and programmable electronic equipment and systems of movable machines, including groups of machines working together, that are not operated manually. This part applies to electrical equipment or parts thereof with a rated supply voltage of AC not exceeding 1000 V or DC not exceeding 1500 V and a rated supply frequency not exceeding 200 Hz. This part does not cover requirements required by other standards or regulations (e.g., protection, interlocking, or control) necessary to protect personnel from non-electrical hazards, nor does it cover additional special requirements for electrical equipment in specific environments (e.g., open air, flammable and explosive environments, mines, etc.) or for specific machine types (e.g., sewing machines, lifting equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
