This document establishes the requirements for library performance indicators and defines a set of indicators applicable to all types of libraries. It also provides guidance on implementing these indicators in libraries that have not yet adopted them. The document is applicable to all libraries of all types in all countries; however, not all indicators are suitable for every library. Limitations on applicability are detailed under the "Scope" subsection in the description of each indicator (see Annex A). Standardized names and brief definitions of performance indicators are provided, followed by in-depth descriptions of each indicator, as well as guidance on data collection and analysis. This document does not preclude the use of performance indicators not described herein.
