2Scope / Description
This document specifies test methods for the tensile strength (evaluated by pulling fasteners through the panels) and shear strength of profiled cement fibre boards, in accordance with EN 494. The results apply solely to the cement fibre product, not to the complete fastener assembly, and are valid only for the delivered products. The scope for tensile strength is defined in Section 7.6; the scope for shear strength is defined in Section 8.6. NOTE: For the design of flat cement fibre boards in final applications, failure modes related to fastener rupture or pull-out from the supporting structure are not covered by this standard. These failure modes may govern the design and shall be evaluated through testing or calculation in accordance with the relevant fastener design standards (e.g., Eurocode 3 for steel, Eurocode 5 for timber, and Eurocode 9 for aluminium supporting structures), with the results compared against the measured tensile and shear strength values.
