2Scope / Description

This standard specifies the quantitative chromaticity evaluation method for the slight color difference between coating films. Note: According to the color coordinates of the two samples, there are many formulas for calculating the color difference, but the results calculated according to these formulas cannot be completely consistent with the vision in all cases. And there may be inconsistencies between them as well. In 1976, the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) recommended two commonly used formulas. One of them is the CIE1976 (L·a·b·) color difference formula stipulated in this standard, which has been proved to be practical for the evaluation of the chromaticity of the coating film.
