This standard DIN 18550-1 contains supplementary provisions to EN 13914-1 "Planning, preparation and application of interior and exterior plastering - Part 1: Exterior plastering". It also applies to plastering of exterior ceilings. Furthermore, it applies to plastering conforming to DIN EN 998-1 and DIN EN 15824 on building walls and ceilings conforming to current specifications (particularly DIN 1045-1, DIN 1053-1, DIN 4103-1 and DIN 4232), and may be applied, as appropriate, to similar plastering substrates, such as older buildings. "Plastering" in this standard's sense does not include surface treatments of components, such as finishing, plastering, brushing, scraping, and impregnation and coating (paints).
